Finally, the second Stimulus Payment was approved last night. Every person with a valid U.S. Social Security Number will receive an additional $600 on top of the $1200 that was given in the first Stimulus Payment.
Although this time around the payment is half of the first one for every adult, the good news is that each dependent child will also receive $600. In the first Stimulus Payment, dependent children received only $500.
– In order to be eligible for this second Stimulus Payment, you need to be up-to-date with your U.S. tax returns.
– Persons receiving a U.S. Social Security Pension will receive it automatically.
– Those who have already filed their 2019 U.S. tax return do not have to do anything else. They will receive the $600 in the mail or directly in their U.S. bank account, eventually.
– Those who have not filed their 2019 U.S. tax return are still in time to do so and be eligible for both payments.
I am aware that many people who have filed their 2019 U.S. tax return are still waiting to receive the first Stimulus Payment. The latest information I have is that payments will be received by the end of February.
