INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO OPEN A VIRTUAL CANADIAN DOLLAR BANK ACCOUNT FOR DIRECT DEPOSIT
If you do not already have a Canadian bank account, please read on.
To avoid mail delays/losses when a paper check is mailed, we suggest that you download an app called Wise and open a Canadian Dollar (CAN$) bank account by transferring CAN$20 (or equivalent) from any Debit or Credit Card to open the account. You will need to upload an ID document and a selfie holding the ID document in front of you. It is like having a bank account in Canada.
The Wise account setup process takes about 20 minutes. After you are approved, you will need to send us your Wise CAD$ account details so that we can instruct the Canada Revenue Agency to send any refund due directly to your Wise account. Any money owed to the Canada Revenue Agency can be debited from there as well.
You should receive your money within a few weeks from when your tax return is electronically filed. You can then transfer the funds to any bank or debit/credit card in any country immediately. If you receive a paper check, you will have to wait days or weeks for the check to clear before you can use your money, besides paying a hefty commission to the check cashing bank/agency.
Please click here for more information on the Wise app. Let us know if you need any help. We will be glad to assist you.
