As you know by now, the U.S. government is currently sending the first ‘wave’ of Stimulus Checks, or as it is called officially, Economic Impact Payment (EIP). It is being sent to any U.S. Person (defined as either a U.S. citizen or a Resident Alien (Green Card holder)) with a valid Social Security Number (SSN) living anywhere in the world, of any age, and having an annual income of not over $99,000 for a single person, or $198,000 for a married couple.

Every adult person is entitled to $1,200 (approximately €1,100) while dependent children with a valid SSN are entitled to $500 (€450) each. People receiving a Social Security pension should have received it automatically already in the account where they receive their pension, or will soon. All others need to file their U.S. tax return for 2019 in order to be eligible.

A second ‘wave’ of payments similar to the first one is quite possible, but it is not yet approved. A decision is expected in the next 2-3 weeks.
