Due to the current COVID-19 situation and its economic impact on the U.S. economy, the U.S. government has recently approved a one-time Stimulus Payment of $1200 per person to any U.S. citizen/Green Card holder (Resident Alien) no matter where they live. Eligible children under age 17 will receive $500 each. The only requirement is that one needs to file their 2019 U.S. taxes.

For example, a couple with 2 children under 17 will receive ($1200 x 2) + $1000, for a total of $3400.
